4 days desert trip to Merzouga from Marrakech, visit Ait ben haddou kasbah, draa valley, nkob berber village, Merzouga sahara desert, Todra gorges, Dades valley
Day 1: Marrakech – Nkob
Leaving Marrakech at 7.00 AM we travel towards Ouarzazat, driving some 200 km through the Atlas Mountains where you will see beautiful landscapes and many authentic Berber villages.
Our first big stop will be in ‘Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah’ a 16th century fortified village and a UNESCO world heritage site. Many big movies have been shot here, (Gladiator, Laurence of Arabia, The Mummy, Prince of Persia…). We visit the fortress before travelling on to Ouarzazat, the capital city of cinema in Africa, where we stop for lunch.
After lunch we drive towards Agdz and N’kob through Draa Valley (the oasis of palm trees). We arrive N’kob in the evening and we stay for the night therein a nice hotel .
Day 2: Nkob – Merzouga
After breakfast we travel through “Tazarine” and “Alnif”, then to Merzouga where the dunes of Erg Chebbi is. We get there in the afternoon. We take a break for an hour in pleasant hotel and if you want you can take a swim in the swimming pool. Just two hours before sunset we ride camels for one hour and half to watch the amazing sunset over sand dunes and we stop for the night at a nomad camp where we will have dinner, and then the nomads will play Berber music for us around the campfire. Then we can enjoy the majestic sky.
Day 3: Merzouga – Dades gorges
We awake early to watch wonderful sunrise and ride camels back to the hotel in Merzouga to have shower and breakfast there and get ready to travel to visit Todgha valley and its gorges, crossing Rissani and Erfoud.
We arrive to Dades Gorges around five o’clock PM to visit the gorges. Afterwards, we stop for the night in a delightful hotel near to the gorges.
Day 4: Dades Gorges – Marrakech
Departure will be at 9:00 am after breakfast,we drive towards the Roses valley and the Road of the Kasbahs, a visit to the famous Glaoui Kasbah in Taourirt.
After lunch we take to way to Marrakech crossing the high Atlas mountains, we arrive to Marrakech in the evening.
